About
"We Met in Jail"
Welcome! My name is Kate and yes, I have been to jail.
This is now shocking news to my family, what few friends I still have, and the rest of the world! I was sentenced to 18 months and spent six months in jail after committing a crime which I took immediate, FULL responsibility for, knowing what I had done was wrong. I am not going to focus on my crime here (...not yet), and c'mon, first impressions are everything.

If you are on the road to recovery and trying to "fit in" with society, your incarceration or past faults can of course hinder this process. This is part of life, as we all know, even if you haven't been to jail. There are a great many people in this world who you would NEVER guess have been incarcerated; some to which you may be related, some may live next to you, or possibly some you pass on your daily commute. Welcome to my world. A severely depressed, anxiety ridden, "well-educated-soccer-mom" with mood swings, just putting on that happy face... who is now on parole from jail.

"We Met In Jail" podcast came from my brain after experiencing jail first-hand. It is here to help others who have been, who may be facing incarceration, or if you are simply curious to know more.
♣ The podcast is a way to reach out and make sure you know that you are not alone. Life after incarceration is hard, and we will talk about that a lot.
♦ There will also be talk of grief, addiction, medications/therapy, and mental health issues, etc... all of which we should NOT be afraid to discuss.
♠ While all this may seem "heavy", there will be quite a bit of comedy, jokes and stories from jail that you will not want to miss!
To understand more of my personal background and my road to jail, please stay tuned. We have much to discuss.
♥ Thank you for being interested!
